Let us bust the myth from the start, Havana is NOT a Shopping Mecca. Don't come here to go crazy with your AMEX!
In the capital Havana, there
are
some high end malls around Parque Central and in the Vedado but not a lot.
You can shop in the bigger cities' main streets in Cuba, like Havana, Trinidad, Cienfuegos, and Santiago.
What can you get?
Across Cuba you will be able to buy tourist memorabilia, clothes and some cosmetics. Generally you need to pay in cash in Cuba!
You will also be able to get fruit and vegetables in the streets. Pay cash with euros or $$
MLC store shopping
MLC stores in Cuba are shops where you can ONLY pay with a credit card with foreign currency. The government owns these shops, but they do not accept Cuban money or US credit cards!

You will not be able to shop common medicine in Cuba; pharmacies are empty! Bring from home.
Pay cash in private shops and restaurants with euros and dollars
Pay with a card in MLC stores owned by the Cuban government
You can get designer clothes and cheap street clothes in Cuba, but don't expect to find a shopping street, mall or area! Things are scattered..!
